The recording began in September 2019.

Nine of the tracks we planned to record had been recorded before so they would be a fairly simple process for the guide track but three of the tracks were being recorded for the first time. We decided to tackle these tracks first.

I played along with some old video recordings and recorded my bass on my portable studio and then hummed the melody.

This is what we used for the guide tracks to "Girl", "Same game" and "2020 vision". Pete layed down a guide guitar and with the help from Steve Scudder (Chiggypig) and clever engineering from Steve Tanton our biggest challenge was accomplished.

First session over and very pleased with ourselves the next session would need Jonathon for the drums but unfortunately he was still recovering from a broken leg so Rikki and Mark booked in to do guide vocals and keyboards. Meanwhile, Pete and I booked separate sessions laying down bass and guitar to a further nine tracks, months of work which gave Jonathon time to mend and come down from London to lay down the drums.

It was now February 2020 and the recording was moving at a great pace. Little did we know what was to come.
